Professional Experience

Jake Larson has a background in criminal and juvenile defense and is excited to bring the same client-centered practice and trial experience to your family law case. While in law school, he practiced criminal defense as a certified law student in Deschutes and Marion Counties before joining Lewis and Clark Law School’s Criminal Justice Reform Clinic, where he worked to secure juvenile set-asides for incarcerated and formerly incarcerated youths. As an attorney, he worked as a public defender in Washington County, handling misdemeanor, then juvenile delinquency and dependency cases in a fast-paced, trial-heavy jurisdiction. Having represented parents, children from ages 0-18, and both criminal defendants and victims, Jake is no stranger to helping clients navigate the legal system under difficult and stressful circumstances. .

Community Involvement

Jake is a member of the Oregon Nordic Club (ONC), an association of cross-country skiers, and looks forward to volunteering to pull weeds with multiple local southwest Portland organizations to further his new-found passion for eradicating invasive plants in our urban parks.

Interests
Jake enjoys attempting to turn his garden into a native forest, spending time with his wife and daughter, and backcountry telemark skiing and snowboarding. He recently began carving and steam-bending his own Nordic skis with hand tools and is slowly teaching himself to make furniture.
